Judson 7, St. Francis (IL) 1 - Box

ELGIN, Ill. - Corey Burke (West Chicago, IL/Houghton College) had a career match with two goals to lead Judson University to their 13th win of the season over the University of St. Francis (IL), 7-1. Five different Judson players scored goals in the win as Judson improved to 13-1 on the year and 6-1 in the CCAC.

St. Francis put Judson up 1-0 in the 16th minute on an own goal when a defender tried to pass the ball back to goalie Juan Santoliva. The ball took a bad bounce by him and went into the net for a 1-0 lead. It then only took six minutes for Judson to net their first official goal when Burke had a shot in the middle of the box off of passes from Sven Moeller (Germany) and Fernando Alvarez (Elgin, IL/Elgin Larkin HS).

Sanon Eustache (Haiti) put on in the back of the net off of a deflection to make it 3-0 in the 34th minute. Rafa Heck (Brazil) finished off the first half scoring in the 44th minute as he guided a shot behind the St. Francis goalie for a four-goal lead.

Tony Skarvatun (Norway) earned his second goal of the season in the 47th minute as Burke and Gustavo Oliveira found him in the right side of the box. Skarvatun then flicked it to the left side of the net to make it 5-0.

In the 61st minute, Martin Khoshabe (Elgin, IL/Elgin HS) was pulled down in the box to set up a penalty kick. Burke stepped into the shot and glided it to the left side of the net for a 6-0 lead. Just four minutes later, Oliveira finished off the scoring for Judson as he dribbled through the defense found the net and a seven-goal advantage.

St. Francis found their lone goal in the 70th minute when Victor Trujillo flicked one past the Judson defense to break up the shutout.

Alex Tyton (Elgin, IL/Trinity International) had three saves in the second half for his 12th win of the year. St. Francis had five different goalies that finished with a combined 10 saves. Judson out shot St. Francis, 22-6, and had more fouls, 15-5.

Judson will travel to Chicago, Ill., on Saturday, October 24th, for a match vs. Illinois Tech at 2:00 p.m. in a key CCAC match.
