Judson 3, Cardinal Stritch 1 - Box

MILWAUKEE, Wisc. - Key goals in the second half led Judson University (11-1/4-1) to a CCAC win over Cardinal Stritch (9-4-1/4-2), 3-1. At the time of the match, Cardinal Stritch was tied for the lead in the CCAC.

Judson took an early 1-0 lead just 10 minutes into the match with a William Zardetto (Brazil) goal on the first of two assists from Gustavo Oliveira (Brazil).

It was the second half that was the difference in the match as Judson netted two goals within five minutes of each other for the three-goal advantage. Sven Moeller (Germany) struck in the 63rd minute off an assist from Martin Khoshaba (Elgin, IL/Elgin HS) and then Rafa Heck hit the third goal of the game for Judson in the 68th minute.

Alex Tyton (Elgin, IL/Trinity International) was strong in goal with all four of his saves in the second half. The lone goal for Cardinal Stritch came in the 71st minute by Andy Collins to bring Judson's lead to two, 3-1.

Judson and Cardinal Stritch both finished the match with nine shots each with Cardinal Stritch taking five corner kicks to Judson's three. Judson committed 25 fouls, though, to Cardinal Stritch's 12.

Judson is now 11-1 overall and 4-1 in the CCAC. If Olivet Nazarene defeats Illinois Tech, tonight, Judson will be three points behind as the Tigers would be 5-1 with 15 points.

Judson will continue play on Saturday, October 17th, at 2:30 p.m. when they host new CCAC member Holy Cross at Dawson Field.
