MILWAUKEE, Wisc. - Christina Thornton (Algonquin, IL/Dundee-Crown HS) and Lynsey McFarland (Scotland) each scored two goals that gave Judson University a 9-2 win over Cardinal Stritch in CCAC play. The two goals by Thornton give her 70 career goals as a Judson University Eagle.

In the first 10 minutes of the match, Judson took a quick 3-0 lead. Kaylee O'Brien (Lake in the Hills, IL/Huntley HS) played a part in the first two goals with assists. She helped Ashley Williams (Lake in the Hills, IL/Huntley HS) score quickly in the fifth minute to make it 1-0. Just 46 seconds later, she connected with Thornton for a 2-0 lead. It was almost four minutes later that Thornton came away with her 70^th career goal in the 10^th minute for a three-goal advantage.

Cardinal Stritch tried to make it interesting in the 11^th minute when Brenda Hernandez found the net to cut Judson's lead to two, 3-1. Judson then scored two more goals in the first half on McFarland shots. McFarland scored her first of two in the 20^th minute on an assist from Williams and then sank a penalty kick in the 24^th minute to make it 5-1.

Kamila Marchi (Brazil) gave Judson a five-goal lead in the 48^th minute and then Tatum Teevans (Bartlett, IL/Houghton College) saw her first goal as an Eagle go in at the 65 minute mark. Angie Gonzalez (Harvard, IL/St. Mary's Univ.) scored the eighth goal in the 69^th minute and Alyssa Low (Hawthorn Woods, IL/Carroll Univ.) put the score at 9-1 in the 72^nd minute.

Sarah Potochich had the other goal for Cardinal Stritch in the 82^nd minute to finish off the scoring.

Mackenzie Fowler recorded two saves in the win and only faced five total shots with four on goal. Judson out shot Cardinal Stritch, 33-5, and had three corner kicks to their two.

Judson will host Holy Cross at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 17^th, in CCAC play.
