Milwaukee, Wisc.- School history was made in Wisconsin as both the Judson University men's and women's cross country programs won the Wisconsin Lutheran Invitational. Running in the rain on a curvy and hilly course did not slow these teams down.

The women finished with 45 points just beating out Viterbo (52) while the men's team scored 82 points to edge out the Milwaukee School of Engineering (88).

On the women's side, Judson took first overall as Rachel Dean was the top runner taking third with at time of 24:09. Kim Peek was ninth at 25:01, Ana Garcia 10th (25:17), Morgan Kimball 13th (25:29), and Kristal Pitts 14th (25:30). Following Pitts were Sandra Hubbard in 21st (26:10), Abby DuPont 33rd (26:52), Stephanie Belokon 37th (27:37) and rounding off the top 50 was Lisa Reitz 48th (28:03). Also finishing was Lauren Strohmaier 90th (32:08), Shannon McNab 92nd (32:37), Katie Rose 93rd (32:51), Murphy Kurth 95th (33:26), Sharon Hubbard 108th (36:38) and Sarah DeDe 109th (36:51). There were 113 runners in this race.

The men also finished first out of 15 teams winning their first Championship. Dakota West was the top runner for Judson in the 8K race with a time of 28:20 in 12th place. Zach Adams was 13th at 28:26, Nate Nevius 16th (28:47), Luke Kierys 18th (29:08), Kyle Julian 26th 29:40. Following Julian was Tim Ciochon in 29th (29:47), Ethan Hahn 55th (31:19), Scott McCracken 63rd (31:45), and Josh Angliss finished at 89th (34:36). The team outscored the second place team by just six points with a score of 82.

The teams will race again next Saturday at the UWisconsin-Kenosha Lucian Rosa Invitational.
