ELGIN, Ill. - The defensive effort by Judson University continued to show as they recorded their third shutout in a row with a 0-0 double overtime tie against Trinity Christian in CCAC women's soccer action. Mackenzie Fowler, who is the CCAC Player of the Week, has not allowed a goal in 293 minutes of play.

Judson and Trinity Christian are both receiving votes in the NAIA National Poll as Trinity Christian is just out of the top 25 at 26th and Judson received seven votes.

Trinity Christian out shot Judson, 15-8, and had three shots in overtime but could not find the net. Trinity Christian out shot Judson in the first period, 7-2, before Judson's offensive intensity picked up in the second half with five shots.

In the second overtime, each team had a chance to score but the defense came through. Judson's Ashley Williams corner kick looked like it might end the match but curved a little too early and hit the outside of the net. Then, in the 108th minute Trinity Christian took a corner kick that almost was put into the goal. The ball danced around in the box but Judson's Fowler cleared it before a Troll could score.

The first overtime also brought some excitement Fowler stopped two Trinity Christian shots in the 91st and 97th minutes. Judson then had a break away in the 99th minute but Christina Thornton's shot was just above the crossbar.

Thornton took two of Judson's eight shots as six other players took one shot for Judson. Allison Doyle had four of Trinity Christian's 15 shots. Fowler finished the game for Judson with 11 saves as Trinity Christian's Hannah Gonzalez had three saves.

Judson will host Trinity International in CCAC play on Saturday, October 3rd, at 12:00 p.m.
