Elgin, Ill. - In their first-ever CCAC semi-final match, Judson University will face the top seed in St. Xavier on Wednesday, October 24th, in Chicago. This will be the second meeting between the two teams this season.
SXU defeated St. Francis, 6-0, in the opening round of the CCAC Tournament. St. Francis was the #8 seed and finished the season at 4-13. SXU has been ranked as high as #4 in the nation and is currently #8. They posted an 8-1 CCAC record and have an overall record of 15-3-1.
Judson will be entering new territory as it has never advanced past the quarterfinal match. The past four years the Eagles have fallen to Trinity International in the quarterfinals. JU's 6-3 CCAC record matches their program best record in the CCAC as they also were 6-3 in the 2006 season. Judson is currently 10-5-1 and now has won 10 or more matches for the second year in a row.
SXU holds a 10-0 advantage vs. JU since they first met in the 1997 season with records from the 1998 not available. SXU nipped JU 2-0 earlier this year in Elgin in their 10th overall meeting.
The game will be played at 5:00 p.m. at the Bruce R. Deaton Memorial Field in Chicago, Illinois.
