Judson 6, Huntington 0 - Box

ELGIN, Ill. - Continuing their offensive power, Judson University lit up the scoreboard for the second straight match as they finished with a 6-0 victory over Huntington University (3-6). Judson is now 6-2-1 on the year and has four shut outs. Both Christina Thornton (Algonquin, IL/Dundee-Crown HS) and Kaylee O'Brien (Lake in the Hills, IL/Huntley HS) netted two goals each. Judson won earlier in the week over Calumet College, 8-0.

"Everybody played well today and we were all on the same page," says head coach Diego Cevallos. "We played all the aspects of our game today. Our young team continues to improve in every match."

With her 65th and 66th career goals, Thornton scored in the fifth minute, to make it 1-0, and the 61st minute for a 5-0 lead. She now has seven goals on the year and is the top two in the CCAC in points and goals.

For the second match in a row, O'Brien excited the crowd with two goals. She came away with her first on in the 17th minute with an assist from Kamila Marchi (Brazil) and Lynsey McFarland (Scotland) to make it 2-0. Just 13 minutes later, O'Brien received a pass from McFarland that she then slipped by the goalie for a three-goal lead.

Ashley Williams (Lake in the Hills, IL/Huntley HS) continued as an offensive threat for Judson as she netted her fifth goal of the year in the 58th minute on an assist from Marchi. Stephanie villa (Rockford, IL/Auburn HS) finished the scoring for Judson in the 64th minute with a shot in the five-yard mark in the box.

McFarland led Judson with three assists while Marchi had two. Williams had the other assist to record three points on the day.

In goal, Mackenzie Fowler (Crosby, TX/Crosby HS) stopped two shots on goal for her fourth shutout of the year and nine career shutouts. She has now gone 183 minutes without letting a goal get by.

Judson finished the day out shooting Huntington, 29-6, and had nine corner kicks to Huntington's one. Huntington's Amy Tavierne finished with eight saves but gave up the six goals.

Judson will continue CCAC play on Tuesday, September 29th, when they host Trinity Christian at 4:00 p.m. Trinity Christian is currently receiving votes and has been ranked as high as #8 in the nation.
