Milwaukee, Wisc. - Making things closer in the CCAC, the Cardinal Stritch University Wolves knocked off the #19 Judson University men's soccer team, 3-2. JU is now 11-4-2 overall and 6-1-1 in the CCAC. The win for CSU kept them alive for the CCAC Post Season Tournament.
The loss for Judson now only puts them a half game ahead of St. Xavier for first place. The Eagles now have to win on Saturday against Illinois Tech to claim the CCAC Championship.
CSU scored first in the first half in the 21st minute to make it 1-0 and then had an own goal in the 44th minute to tie the game at one. JU sent the ball across the box and as CSU tried to clear it, they knocked it into their own goal.
In the 55th minute, CSU scored again to take the 2-1 advantage. Senior
Andrew Weissman (Glenview, Ill.) netted the tying goal in the 60th minute. Both teams played close until a foul in the 70th minute by Judson. CSU received a free kick and the Wolves nailed the shot for a 3-2 lead as they went on for the win.
Judson travels to Illinois Tech on Saturday, October 20th, for a 7:00 p.m. match in Chicago for the CCAC Championship. Illinois Tech is only one game back and St. Xavier is a half game back.
