#16 Olivet Nazarene 3, Judson 1 - Box

BOURBONNAIS, Ill. - Taking one game from #16 Olivet Nazarene University (4-5/1-0), Judson University (1-6/0-1) came up short against the Tigers, 3-1 (13-25, 25-23, 16-25, 12-25). It was the first game win for Judson over Olivet Nazarene since the 2006 season when they fell, 3-1.

Carissa Oelke (Oregon, IL/Oregon HS) led Judson with 12 kills while Carly Campionio (Crystal Lake, IL/Crystal Lake South HS) had 22 assists and Deb Leganski (Elgin, IL/Elgin Larkin HS) recorded 20 digs. Karissa Groharing (Byron, IL/Byron HS) led Judson with three blocks.

After a 25-13 loss in game one, it looked as though Olivet Nazarene would be too much for Judson. Responding to the 12-point game one loss, Judson bounced back and showed their potential with a 25-23 win. With the game tied at eight, Judson scored the next five points for a 13-8 lead. Judson received their points from an Olivet service error followed by two service aces from Courtney Martin (Eureka, IL/Eureka HS) and two kills by Oelke. Judson never lost their lead after that.

In game three, Judson was tied with Olivet at 13 when the Tigers scored the next four points for the lead. In that run, Judson gave Olivet three points with a service error, receiving error, attack error, and a bad set. Judson did not recover and fell 25-16.

Olivet's momentum carried over into game four where they won, 25-12.

Judson will now travel to the North Park University Invitational this weekend and face four NCAA Division III programs in Chicago.
