ELGIN, Ill. - In their first women's tennis match at Judson University in over 13 years, Judson University fell to Elgin Community College, 8-1. Judson is now 0-3 on the new year.
It was a historic day for the program as they hosted their first-ever women's tennis match since the program was cut 13 years ago. This past spring, the sport was reinstated and former Judson tennis star Art Steuber was hired as the coach.
Danielle Sum (West Dundee, IL/Elgin CC) also made it a historic day as she scored the first match point of the year. She defeated Elgin Community College's and former teammate Rebekah Hegel, 6-4, 6-3 (10-6).
Judson will travel to Concordia (IL) on Wednesday, September 2nd, for their fourth match of the season.
