
ELGIN, Ill. - Head coach Amy Cook has added two new members to the cheerleading and poms team for the 2009 season in Rebekah Thompson and Ashley Howard.
Thompson has a strong background in cheerleading as he comes from Round Lake Senior High School in Round Lake Park, Illinois. The 2007 graduate earned the team's MVP in her junior season and was also given the Captain's award. Her squad finished 10th in state at the ICCA and was second at the Romeoville competition. Academically at Round Lake Senior High School, she is a member of the National Honor Society and the National Honors Society for Music. She also participated in drama and choir. She is transferring to Judson from College of Lake County and will major in elementary education. She is the daughter of Alex and Cindy Fazekas.
Coming to Judson from McHenry County College, Howard will add to the already talented squad. At McHenry County, she helped run the spirit squad for two years while also being a member of Phi Theta Kappa. Originally from McHenry, Illinois, the 2007 graduate of Marian Central Catholic was a member of the honors society. Outside of cheerleading, she took part in tumbling and ballet. She will major in early education.
