ELGIN, Ill. - Judson University men's soccer coach Steve Burke has added two more players for the 2009 season in Fernando Alvarez (Elgin, IL) and Michael Stiens (Cincinnati, OH).

Alvarez, a standout at Elgin Larkin High School, is a two-time all-Conference and all-State selection. In 2008 he helped his team to the Upstate 8 conference championship. In the previous season (2007), Elgin Larkin won the regional championship and were sectional finalist. The two-time letterman for soccer also participated in track. He is the son of Juan and Maria Alvarez and is undecided in a major.

Playing rugby in high school, Stiens won one letter for Cincinnati Moeller High School. He played on the first high school rugby team formed in Cincinnati and the team was undefeated with just a few games left in the 2009 season. He also participated in the Chess Club and community service. He is the son of Chuck and Cathy Stiens and will major in psychology.
