
ELGIN, Ill. - Continuing to add more pitching and catching, Judson University baseball coach Rich Benjamin has signed Nick Krisman and Andy Parsill from Heartland Community College for the 2010 season. Krisman and Parsill both played two seasons for Heartland Community College.
Krisman was a second-team All-Conference selection for Heartland C.C. this season as the team finished 42-9-1. He finished 7-1 with a 1.28 ERA and 58 strikeouts while walking only nine batters. He also had two shutouts. In 2008, he went 2-1 and had 20 strikeouts.
Hailing from St. Joseph, Illinois (St. Joseph-Ogden HS), Krisman was a three-sport standout in high school at St. Joseph-Ogden. In baseball, he was a two-time all-State pitcher, all-Conference, and an all-Area pitcher. In football, he was an all-Conference and all-Area selection and all-State honorable mention as a punter. He helped his football team to a state runner-up finish and in basketball they won three regional championships, two conference championships, and a sectional championship. He was also involved in Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Students Against Drugs and Alcohol.
Parsill had 25 RBI and five doubles in 2008 with a .288 batting average and then .384 with nine doubles in the 2009 season. He helped Heartland C.C. to 42 wins and played in 30 while starting 24. Behind the plate, he caught four runners stealing.
He came to Heartland C.C. from Niles West High School in Skokie, Illinois. He won three letters for Gary Gustafson and was an all-State selection in 2007. He was also a three-time all-Area selection and a two-time all-Conference player. His team named him the MVP in his senior season as they won the 2007 regional championship. The three-time scholar athlete in high school also made the Dean's List at Heartland C.C.
He is the son of David and Christine Parsill and will major in accounting.
