
ELGIN, IL. - Three players earned All-CCAC First-Team honors this season for their play while one was named the CCAC Freshman Pitcher of the Year. Sophomore's Nicole Dimiceli (Algonquin,IL) and Carrie Sensor (Elgin,IL) and freshman Virginia McAndrews (Wheaton, IL) all were first-team. For the second year in a row, Judson received a "freshman of the year" award in pitcher McAndrews.
Earning the CCAC "Freshman Pitcher of the Year" is McAndrews with an 8-6 record in 26 appearances. She finished third in the CCAC in strikeouts with 122. Her 122 strikeouts also set a Judson single season record for strikeouts surpassing Jill Jeter's 121 set in the 2007 season. McAndrews also had three saves on the year in 109.1 innings pitched.
For the second year in a row, Dimiceli was named to the All-CCAC First-Team. Last year, she was Judson's first player to be voted "freshman player of the year." Dimiceli finished third in the CCAC in hits (61), total bases (94), and slugging percentage (.631) and was fourth in runs scored (44), RBI (45), and home runs (6). She finished the season with a .403 batting average. At Judson, she is second in career RBI with 92 and holds the single season record from 2008 in hits (71), RBI (47), and doubles (20).
Making her first appearance on the All-CCAC First-Team and receiving her first award at Judson is Sensor. She was first in the CCAC in runs scored (54) and second in hits (65). She broke the Judson single season record for at-bats (171) in which she set last season and runs scored. She finished the season batting .380 with 15 RBI.
Judson had a strong season as they broke the program record for wins (25) which they set last season and they also won two games in the CCAC Tournament. Judson also picked up their first and second program wins against Olivet Nazarene.
