
CHICAGO, IL. - Breaking the program record for wins in a season, Judson University held onto a 5-3 victory over Olivet Nazarene in the CCAC Tournament for their 25th win of the year. Judson then fell to Purdue-North Central, 9-1, in the semi-final of the loser's bracket. Judson is now 25-26 on the year.
The win over Olivet Nazarene was their second this season and only second in program history for Judson's school record 25th win on the year. Judson set the record last year with 24 wins in their last series of the season.
Lizzy Jacobson singled in the first run of the game as Carrie Sensor came home after getting on base with a single. Two batters later, Sam Gladen hit in Nicole Dimiceli for the second run of the inning. The second inning brought two more runs on an Olivet Nazarene error as both Kristin Krueger and Sensor scored.
In the fourth inning, Sensor scored on another Olivet Nazarene error from second base.
Sensor finished the game going 3-of-4 with three runs scored. Jacobson and Gladen each had a RBI. Olivet Nazarene out hit Judson, 8-6, but had six errors in the game.
Jacobson went five innings for the win with three strikeouts and Victoria Perez finished the final two innings giving up two earned runs for the save.
In game two, Judson did not have any offensive power as they fell, 9-1, to Purdue-North Central.
