CHICAGO, IL. - Tying the program record for wins in a season by winning game one in the CCAC Tournament, #5 Judson University (24-25) run ruled #4 St. Francis (20-24), 10-1, but then fell in the second game of the tournament to #1 seed St. Xavier, 3-0. Judson will now face #3 seed Olivet Nazarene on Tuesday, April 28th, at 11:00 a.m.

Judson 13, St. Francis 1
Nicole Dimiceli went 3-of-3 with four RBI and three runs scored to help Judson to the 13-1 win. In the game, she connected for her sixth home run of the year. Concetta Lampugnano also had three hits with three RBI and two runs scored while Carrie Sensor was 2-of-4. Both Victoria Perez and Sam Gladen added a RBI.

Perez was given the win by going three innings allowing only five hits and one earned run. Lizzy Jacobson went the final two innings and did not allow a run or a hit.

Judson struck first with three runs in the bottom of the first inning. Dimiceli hit in her first of four RBI for the first run with a single to left field that scored Lampugnano and then Sensor touched home plate on the throw into the infield. Three batters later, with the bases loaded, Gladen singled to center field to bring in Dimiceli.

Scoring their lone run in the third inning, St. Francis made it a two-run game, 3-1. Judson shot right back with three runs in the bottom of the third inning to make it 6-1. Lampugnano did all the scoring for Judson in one at-bat when she hit a bases loaded double for three RBI. Kristin Krueger, Tricia Lakotish, and Danielle Curylo all crossed home plate.

That inning started three consecutive innings of scoring as Judson put up another run in the fourth inning and three in the fifth for the 10-1 lead. In the fourth inning, Perez had a sacrifice fly as Dimiceli came in from third base. After the first two outs in the fifth inning, Judson had two singles from Lampugnano and Sensor to set up Dimiceli ending the game with a home run for the 10-1 score.

Judson had 13 hits on the day and no errors as they held St. Francis to five hits. The win vindicates a CCAC tournament loss from the 2008 season when St. Francis won, 3-2, in eight innings that finished Judson's season.

St. Xavier 3, Judson 0
Scattering six hits and out hitting St. Xavier, 6-4, Judson could not find the runs they needed as top seeded St. Xavier won, 3-0. Judson left seven runners on base in the game. St. Xavier scored one run in the first, third and seventh innings for their three runs. Six different players had one hit in the game as Dimiceli had a double.

Dimiceli doubled for her only hit of the game in the first inning with two outs but Judson did not bring her in to try and tie the game at one. In the third inning, Judson had runners on second and third base with no outs and once again did not bring in the runs when needed.

Lizzy Jacobson went five innings for the loss with two strikeouts and one earned run. Perez finished the final two innings and gave up a run.

Judson will now play #3 Olivet Nazarene in the loser's bracket at 11:00 a.m. in Chicago.
