ELGIN, IL. - A big fifth inning was the difference in the game as Judson University (22-19/15-8) produced three runs to take the lead for good, 5-3, en route to a 6-4 win over Trinity Christian College (11-22/6-15) in a single nine-inning CCAC game. Judson still remains in the hunt for the CCAC Championship only four games behind St. Xavier.

Trent Golz pitched a complete game for his fourth win on the year as he recorded five strikeouts and gave up seven hits with two earned runs. Kevin O'Donovan took the loss for the Trolls.

Kevin Fischer had another outstanding game as he went 4-of-5 with three runs scored. Tim Victor was right behind him with a 3-of-4 performance and two RBI. Bret Ehrlich gave Judson two hits. Zach Williams, Matt McHenry, Zach Scipione, and Royce Krueger all had one RBI.

Judson struck paydirt first in the bottom of the first inning when Victor doubled to left center field to score Fischer. Judson's lead lasted only an inning as Trinity Christian hit up Golz for three runs in the top of the third inning.

Bring the lead back to one, 3-2, in the bottom of the third inning, Victor picked up his second RBI with a single to left field as Fischer scored again.

Two innings later, Judson put together three runs to take the lead for good, 5-3. Victor started of f the inning with a double as Jake Bostwick came in as the pinch runner. Three batters later, with one out, McHenry singled through the right side of the infield to score Bostwick to tie the game at three. Two batters later, Scipione hit a long fly ball down the right field line that was foul and caught by Trinity Christian as Ehrlich tagged up from third base to take the lead, 4-3. Royce Krueger followed Scipione with a single through the left side as McHenry touched home plate for the third run of the inning.

Adding an insurance run in the sixth inning, Fischer was the sixth run of the game on a Williams' fielder's choice.

Trinity Christian did make things interesting with a run in the top of the ninth inning to come within two. With two outs, the Trolls had a chance to tie the game with runners on second and the game ended on a ground out to Fischer at second.

Judson travels to Palos Heights, IL, on Saturday, April 25th, for a double header against Trinity Christian with the game starting at 1:00 p.m.
