. – After taking a 1-0 lead in the 2nd half, the Judson University (3-5-1) Eagles couldn’t hold onto their lead as St. Ambrose University (4-5-1) came back to win, 2-1. This was the second game in three days for the women’s soccer team.After a scoreless first half, Judson added their only score in the 65th minute when Samantha Vestal (Bakersfield, Calif.) soared in a shot from 30-yards out past the goalie. JU kept their lead for 15 minutes until SAU scored two goals in two minutes. The first goal came in the 80th minute followed by the second goal in the 82nd minute for the go-ahead score.
JU and SAU both had 13 shots each but the Eagles only had four on goal as SAU had 11 on goal. Rebecca O’Donnell recorded nine saves in the loss.
Judson is back in CCAC play on Saturday, September 29th, at 1:00 p.m. in their homecoming game against St. Francis (Ill.).
