ELGIN, IL. - Heath Groves went nine innings recording eight strikeouts for the complete game win as Judson University (14-15/9-6) came from behind over Calumet College (4-24/3-9) for their sixth consecutive victory, 11-6. Bret Ehrlich led Judson with a 4-of-5 performance at the plate.

Zach Williams had two RBI for Judson as Kevin Fischer, Tim Victor, and Ehrlich all added one RBI. Victor and Royce Krueger each had two hits as Ehrlich and Williams also recorded triples.

Down 4-0 after the first half inning, Judson responded with three runs to cut Calumet's lead to one, 4-3. Judson's first three runs came without a hit as Fischer scored first on a passed ball. Two batters later, Jake Bostwick came home on another passed ball to make it 4-2. Three batters later, Matt McHenry was the third run to score on a wild pitch.

In the bottom of the second inning, Judson added two more runs to take the 5-4 lead. Victor doubled to left fielding bringing in Fischer to tie the game at four. Williams brought in the go-ahead run on a fielder's choice as Bostwick tapped home plate for the lead.

Groves then pitched four scoreless innings for Judson, including the top of the second inning before giving up a run in the top of the sixth to tie the game at five. Judson responded with three runs in the bottom of the inning for a three-run advantage, 8-5.

With two outs and Fischer on second base, Ehrlich hit his third triple of the year to break the tie. Williams followed Ehrlich with his own triple for the second run of the inning. Williams then came home on a Calumet error for the eighth run of the game.

Calumet came within two, 8-6, in the top of seventh with their final run of the game. Judson brought in three security runs in the eighth inning to seal the win. McHenry and Ehrlich both scored together for the first two runs in the inning on another Calumet error. After Chris Lucius walked to load the bases, Calumet walked Fischer as Royce Krueger scored the final run.

On the day, Calumet committed eight errors in the loss. Each team had 10 hits but Judson left 12 runners on base.

Judson will return to action on Saturday, April 11th, in Indiana, as they travel to Calumet College with the game to start at 1:30 p.m. The game has also moved to a neutral site at Indiana-Northwest due to field conditions at Calumet.
