ELGIN, IL. - Virginia McAndrews pitched nine of the 14 innings for Judson University (17-13/8-4) and collected 19 strikeouts as the Eagles swept Cardinal Stritch University (0-14/0-4) in CCAC play. McAndrews had a career-high 15 strikeouts from the mound in game one as she shut out the Wolves, 7-0, and then picked up the save in game two going two innings for an 8-3 win.

Judson combined for 15 runs in two games as the bats were hot. Dana Dimiceli led Judson in game one with two hits while Danielle Curylo smacked her second home run of the year. Game two brought a three-hit performance from Kristin Krueger and Victoria Perez.

Game 1
Judson 7, Cardinal Stritch 0

Scoring only one run in four innings, Judson blasted open the fifth inning with six runs to race out for a seven run lead. McAndrews was hot on the mound with 15 strikeouts for a career-high and gave up only five hits and for her second shutout win of the year.

Lizzy Jacobson scored the first run of the game in the fourth inning when she came home on a bases loaded walk by Cardinal Stritch. In the next inning, Judson secured the win with six runs.

In the bottom of the fifth, Dimiceli brought in the first run with a single up the middle. Sam Gladen reached on a fielder's choice, next, scoring Jacobson. Dimiceli was the third player to touch home plate as Tricia Lakotish singled her home with a shot up the middle. Curylo the finished the scoring after Lakotish with a three-run home run over centerfield to make it 7-0.

Dana Dimiceli was 2-of-3 with one RBI and Gladen, Lakotish, and Kristin Krueger all had one RBI. Curylo secured three RBI with her home run.

Game 2
Judson 8, Cardinal Stritch 3

Judson scored the first three runs of the game with two in the first inning and one in the third for a 3-0 lead. With two outs, Krueger scored first on a Jacobson single up the middle. Three batters later, with the bases loaded, Curylo was walked to score Jacobson to make it 2-0. In the third inning, Perez doubled to center field as Krueger scored again.

Cardinal Stritch then added a run in the fourth and two in the top of fifth to tie the game at three. Judson responded with two more runs in the fifth and three in the sixth to put the game away. In the fifth, Gladen doubled home Perez for the fourth run and broke the 3-3 tie. Two batters later, Hoffman singled to center field to make it 5-3 as Gladen scored. In the sixth inning, Krueger hit in Concetta Lampugnano for the sixth run of the game. Sensor scored two batters later on a fielder's choice and then Perez picked up her second RBI of the game with a single to the short stop that scored Krueger for the five-run lead.

Lizzy Jacobson started the game and went five innings with two strikeouts and three earned runs. She did not walk anybody. After five innings, the score was 5-3 and McAndrews pitched the final two innings for the save. She faced six batters and struck out four with one walk giving up no runs.

Perez and Krueger led Judson's 12-hit attack with three hits each. Hoffman added two. Perez led the RBI category with two as Krueger, Hoffman, McAndrews, Jacobson, Gladen, and Curylo all had one RBI.

Judson will now travel to Iowa and play in the Iowa Wesleyan Tournament this weekend.
