
ELGIN, IL. - Behind the pitching of four different pitchers Judson University fell short in their first day of the Judson Tournament. Judson is now 13-11. Samantha Gladen had the highlight for the day hitting her first homerun of the season off the scoreboard in the first game against Bethel.
Ending the game in the 6th due to a time restriction on the day Victoria Perez took the loss for Judson making her record 2-2. Carrie Sensor led Judson with two hits, one run and one RBI.
Judson was down early in the game and had to fight to come back, with Huntington scoring three runs in the first inning. They fought back hard with Kristen Krueger stealing home and they tied the game in the 5th with two runs scored in the 3rd and two in the 5th.
Facing the #9 ranked team in the nation, Judson had an excellent start with six runs in the top of the first, but Bethel fought back for the eventual win. Scoring her first home run of the season Samantha Gladen smashed one off the scoreboard with two on base.
Unfortunately for Judson all their runs came in the first inning and errors eventually cost them the game. Lizzy Jacobson received the loss.
The last game of a long day proved unsuccessful for Judson having four hits bringing in just one run by Nicole Dimiceli. Judson's lone score for the game came in the final inning. With Dimiceli doing the grunt work to get around the bases stealing second and advancing to third on a ground out by Dana Dimiceli.
Virginia McAndrews took the loss for Judson.
