ELGIN, IL. - Only producing four hits and recording three errors led to a 6-3 loss for Judson University (7-13/2-4) in a CCAC game against Purdue-North Central (10-11/4-0). Judson had a 1-0 lead after five innings before Purdue-North Central scored two in the top of the sixth inning.

Kevin Fischer led Judson with two hits in four plate appearances with one run scored. Mike Krueger had one RBI for Judson. Ed Draper took the loss in seven innings pitched giving up two runs with one earned. He also had seven strikeouts and pitched five scoreless innings. Phillip Stewart went 0.2 innings before Jason Egli finished the final 1.1 innings.

After two scoreless innings, Judson made it 1-0 in the bottom of the third inning. After the first out of the inning, Tim Victor doubled to centerfield. He was then replaced on base by Jake Bostwick and advanced to third on a Trent Golz ground out. Bostwick came across the plate as the first run when Purdue-North Central recorded an error at third base.

Judson then played two more solid innings of defense before giving up two runs in the top of the sixth inning. The first two batters reached on singles and then the bases were loaded with no outs when Judson made an error on a fielder's choice. After a strike out, the next batter doubled home two runs to take the lead, 2-1. Purdue-North Central then added three runs in the eighth and one in the ninth for a 6-1 lead.

Making the game interesting, Judson added two runs in the bottom of the ninth. Fischer and Chris Lucius both started the inning with singles. After a Judson strikeout, Bret Ehrlich was walked to load the bases. Mike Krueger then hit into a fielder's choice that scored both Lucius and Fischer. Zach Scipione then hit into a fielder's choice to end the game.

Judson will travel to Indiana to continue the CCAC series on Saturday, March 28^th, against Purdue-North Central at 1:00 p.m.
