ELGIN, IL. - Splitting another series in the CCAC, Judson University (7-12/2-3) dropped the first game, 2-1, to Cardinal Stritch but then bounced back for a 5-2 win in game two. John Banks (Elgin, IL) picked up his first collegiate win.

Chris Lucius led Judson with four hits on the day and Trent Golz had two RBI. Stefan Alinkas went six innings in game one and gave up one earned run. Jason Egli took the loss on 0.2 innings pitched. In game two, Banks went 5.1 innings in relief for the win and had six strikeouts.

Game 1
Cardinal Stritch 2, Judson 1

Only producing one run in the game, Judson University had only three hits in the 2-1 loss. Cardinal Stritch came away with eight hits and a strong seventh inning pulling out the one-run win. Stefan Alinkas went six innings and only gave up one run before Egli went 0.2 innings for the loss. Phillip Stewart made the final out in the seventh inning.

Judson scored their lone run in the first inning when Bret Ehrlich singled home Chris Lucius to make it 1-0. After that point, Judson could not find the ball as Cardinal Stritch's Justin Calvert went the distance and struck out four.

In the top of the seventh inning, Alinkas gave up a single to start the inning and then was relieved by Egli. He then got the first batter to ground out but the next batter singled to put runners on the corners. Cardinal Stritch surprised Judson with a squeeze play and would have been out at home because the batter missed the ball but was safe as the ball passed through the glove to tie the game at one. Cardinal Stritch then lined out on the next batter but the next two batters singled to bring in the winning run. Judson couldn't answer in the bottom of the inning as the fell, 2-1.

Lucius, Ehrlich, and Scipione were the only players to have a hit in the game with Ehrlich gaining the lone RBI.

Game 2
Judson 5, Cardinal Stritch 2

Judson did all their scoring in the first three innings for the win. Scoring one in the first on a Lucius single, Kevin Fischer came home. Cardinal Stritch took a 2-1 lead in the top of the second but this time Judson answered with two runs in the bottom of the inning for a 3-2 advantage.

The first three batters of the second inning all had a hit. Tim Victor started off the inning with a single to center field and then advanced to third on a double by Royce Krueger. Trent Golz recorded his two RBI with a long single to right field that scored both Lucius and Krueger.

In the third inning, Judson made it 5-2 with two more runs. After Judson started off the inning with two straight outs, they had four hits in row for two runs. Mike Krueger singled to get on base and Victor collected a double to left center field that scored Krueger from first base. Royce Krueger followed the double with a single to score Jake Bostwick who pinch ran for Victor. That made it a three-run advantage for Judson.

Lucius led Judson by going 3-of-4 at the plate with one RBI. Adding two hits were Mike Krueger, Tim Victor, and Royce Krueger. Victor had one RBI while Golz recorded two. Judson also had three doubles in the game.

Scott Baier started the game and went 1.2 innings with one strikeout and two runs. John Banks came in relief for the win finishing the final 5.1 innings with six strikeouts and not allowing a hit. Cardinal Stritch had only one hit in the game that came in the very first inning.

Judson will now host Purdue-North Central for one nine-inning game on Friday, March 27th, at 4 p.m. at Hoffer Field.
