
CHICAGO, IL. - Taking St. Xavier University to extra innings, Judson University (5-10/0-1) fell to the Cougars, 7-6, in 10 innings in the season opening CCAC game. Making his record 3-1 on the week, Jason Egli took the loss.
Judson had a 5-3 lead after five innings only to see St. Xavier score two in the seventh inning to tie the game. Judson then retook the lead in the top of the 10th, 6-5, but then gave up two runs in the bottom of the inning for the loss, 7-6.
Ed Draper started the game and went six innings before Phil Stewart relieved for 1.2 innings. Egli finished the final 2.1 innings for the loss.
Kevin Fischer led Judson by going 3-of-5 with two RBI. Matt McHenry, Bret Ehrlich, and Tim Victor all had one RBI.
Judson will now host St. Xavier in CCAC play at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 21st, at Hoffer Field.
