
CHICAGO, IL - Starting off CCAC play in softball, Judson University split their opening series with St. Xavier on the Cougar's turf. Judson won the first game, 3-1, and then fell in game two, 4-3, in the bottom of the seventh inning. Judson is now 6-6 on the year and 1-1 in the CCAC.
Pitching the entire game, McAndrews recorded her first collegiate win and is now 1-1 on the season. Judson scored three runs in the third inning for the 3-1 victory. Dana Dimiceli went 2-of-3 but Nicole Dimiceli had one RBI and Liz Jacobson recorded two.
In the third inning, Carrie Sensor singled to start the inning and then Kristin Krueger was walked. Nicole Dimiceli then doubled to bring home Sensor for the first run. Jacobson followed Dimiceli with a single that scored both Krueger and Dimiceli for Judson's three runs.
St. Xavier came away with a comeback win in the bottom of the seventh inning. With Judson up, 3-2, St. Xavier tied the game when a runner beat the throw to home plate and then the next batter scored the winning run on a Judson error to end the game.
Victoria Perez started the game and went two innings before Jacobson finished the game. Jacobson received the loss and is now 1-3 on the year.
Judson was down 2-0 when they scored their first urn in the third inning. Judson then took the lead, 3-2, with two runs in the fifth inning. For the game, Jacobson, Nicole Dimiceli, and Dana Dimiceli each had a RBI. Sensor and Nicole Dimiceli led the team with a 2-of-3 performance at the plate.
Judson will now host NCAA Division III Northland College on Friday, March 20th, at 6:00 p.m. in a single game.
