Elgin, Ill. – Senior Mark Howlett scored the first three goals of the game and then added a his fourth in the second half as the #19 Judson University men’s soccer (9-3-2/5-0-1) team shut out Calumet, 6-0. This is the second time this season that Howlett has scored two more goals in a match. The win for Judson gives them their ninth win of the year and a perfect 5-0-1 record in the CCAC.

Senior Kyle Selph started in goal on senior day posted his first shutout this season. He had four saves in four shots on goal. It is the fourth team shutout of the year.

Howlett put JU on the board in the 13th minute when he connected with Milos Bajic in the box. Just five mintues later he scored his second goal on a penalty kick after he was tackled in the box. In the 28th minute, Howlett nailed a shot from 15-yards out off an assist from senior Andrew Weissman.

In the second half, Weissman picked up his first goal of the year as he seared in a shot from 10 yards out off a Bajic corner kick. Howlett recorded his fourth goal in the 71st minute after he beat the goalie with his own pass and just tapped in the easy goal. Senior Steven Moldenhauer finished off the scoring with the sixth goal in the 76th minute on a break away along the sideline.

JU only allowed five Calumet shots but took 34 shots with 20 on goal. JU also had 10 corner kicks to Calumet’s two.

Judson will now have four straight road games to finish out the season. They travel to Olivet Nazarene on Tuesday, October 10th, with the game at 4:00 p.m.
