#23 Jamestown College 5, Judson 4 - Box

ORMOND BEACH, FL. - It came down to the ninth inning as #23 Jamestown College just slipped by Judson University (1-2), 5-4. Judson gave up the winning runs in the top of the ninth inning and then couldn't find the tying run in the bottom of the inning.

Judson had four runs on 11 hits as four players had two hits each. Kevin Fischer, Zac Williams, Mike Krueger, and Zach Scipione all had two hits. Fischer stole his second base of the season, too.

Judson scored two runs in the first inning and then added a run in the third and eighth inning. Heath Groves received his first start at Judson and went 6 1/3 innings giving up just three runs on four hits. Zach Phillips pitched the rest of the seventh inning and was followed by an inning of work from Matt Musser and Jason Egli. Both Musser and Egli gave up runs while Egli received the loss.

"We have a really good club," says head coach Rich Benjamin. "A couple of better executions on the field by our part and we could have won the game. We missed a bunt in one inning that could have changed the game but I felt like they played well overall."

Judson will have a double header tomorrow against Marian College at 10:00 a.m.
