ELGIN, IL. - Offering a clinic to become an officially licensed track official in Illinois, Judson University cross country coach Rich Weinhandl will teach the clinic on Thursday, February 26th. This will be the first of two required clinics.
The clinic will take place in the Lindner Fitness Center at 9 p.m. and will cost $50. The first clinic will be 90 minutes long with the second clinic to be at a later date. After the clinics, the trainees will have to work three to five meets with hands on experience. Once the clinics are passed, you will attain the certification status of "recognized" track official. Opportunities to advance to higher levels are available. After you have earned your certification, you can start to work track meets and earn between $75 to $125 a meet.
Rich Weinhandl, who is in his second year at Judson as the cross country coach, has been a certified track official for 35 years.
If interested, please send your registration payment of $50 to Rich Weinhandl before February 17th. A minimum of 10 people are needed for the class.
