ELGIN, IL. - Adding another top runner from the Midwest, Judson University cross country coach Rich Weinhandl has announced that Scott McCracken has signed a letter of intent to become an Eagle. McCraken will come to Judson from that state of Kansas.

"Scott will be another great addition to our team," says Weinhandl. "He will be our third men's runner that has come from a top-notch high school program that has either won a state championship or finished as runners-up. He will be a strong runner for us."

He joins Zach Adams from Wisconsin and Tim Ciochon from Nebraska as the other top recruits in his class. Ciochon's team finished as state runners-up in Nebraska for cross country.

McCracken helped Maranatha Academy to the 2A Kansas State Championship for cross country this past fall as the #2 runner. He is a four-year letter winner and two-time captain for Bianca Williams in cross country and also lettered three years in track. In the Crossroads Conference, McCracken has been named all-Conference and was the medalist at the KU Classic All-Midwest cross country meet. As a sophomore, he helped Marantha Academy to a state runner-up finish for cross country. In track and field, his 4x800 meter relay team was state runners-ups as a sophomore.

Academically, McCracken is an all-Conference academic selection and a member of the National Honor Society. He also participates in the Spanish Club and was on the student council for two years. Marantha Academy honored him, too, with the ACSI Distinguished Christian High School Student Award.

He is the son of Kevin and Lisa McCracken and will major in architecture at Judson.
