ELGIN, IL - Taking the interim tag off of his title, Diego Cevallos has been promoted to head women's soccer coach at Judson University. Cevallos was the interim coach for the 2008 season taking over for Judson alumnus Freddie King. Along with being the women's soccer coach, Cevallos will also be in charge of the Judson University Intramural Program for the students.

"Diego did a great job in the interim position leading the Judson women's soccer program and definitely deserves to receive the official title of head women's soccer coach," says Director of Athletics Nancy Binger. "I am very appreciative of the effort that Diego has already put forth and I look forward to seeing where he takes the program in the coming years."

In his first season, Judson went 7-11-1 and played eight teams that were either nationally ranked or receiving votes sometime during the 2008 season. The 2008 season brought a first for the women's soccer program, too, as they defeated a NCAA Division I program in Houston Baptist. Cevallos also recruited 10 new players replacing seven players from the 2007 CCAC tournament championship team.
