ELGIN, IL. - From the opening basket, Judson University (11-9/2-1) cruised to an 81-60 win over Purdue University-Calumet (3-15/1-3) in CCAC play. Judson held the Peregrines to single digits for the first eight minutes of the game.

Landon Skinner (Plano, TX) led Judson with 16 points while both Ben Rayhorn (Dakota, IL) and  Dewayne Robinson (Memphis, TN) added 15 points. Robinson also led Judson with eight rebounds. Vince Johnson was Purdue-Calumets leading scorer with 17 points.

After the first three combined shots were missed Judson scored the next six points for a 6-0 lead at the 17:34 mark. Purdue-Calumet responded with a 5-2 run in a minute and half to come within three, 8-5. That is as close as they would come as Judson slowly pulled away. With 11:54 left in the first half, Purdue-Calumet once again was within striking distance, 18-13, but Judson put the Peregrines hopes to rest. In the next four minutes, Judson put together a 16-2 run for a 19-point lead, 34-15. Judson went on to take their largest lead of the game, 29-points, 49-20, just before half. Judson had a 27-point lead at the half, 49-22, and shot 48% in the half.

The offense slowed down a bit in the second half as Purdue-Calumet outscored Judson, 38-32. The lead did not drop to under 20 points until the 5:25 mark, 72-53. Judson did have a 29-point lead in the second half, 65-36, with 13:12 left on a Robinson layup. Purdue-Calumet did not come any closer than 18-points, 78-60, with 22 seconds left in the game.

Judson finished the game shooting 44% and was 80% from the foul line. They held Purdue-Calumet to 29% from the floor, 20% from three-point range, and 53% from the stripe. Both teams ended the game with 48 rebounds but Judson forced 20 turnovers and had eight steals and six blocks.

Judson will travel to Deerfield, Ill., on Wednesday, January 21^st, to face Trinity International in CCAC play.
