ELGIN, IL. - Returning to restart the program for men's and women's tennis is most notarized player to ever leave Judson for men's tennis in Art Steuber. Steuber received many awards for his play at Judson and is the first men's tennis player to be inducted into the Judson University Athletic Hall of Fame.
"Being able to hire Art Steuber to bring back our tennis program is storybook," comments Director of Athletics Nancy Binger. "Having the best tennis player in Judson's history back to start our program up again is ideal. I know that Art will be passionate to create a respectable and successful program."
Steuber, who is being inducted into the Judson University Athletics Hall of Fame this year, was Judson's Male Athlete of the Year in 1991-92. He was twice named the NIIC Player of the Year and All-NIIC while being a four-year letter winner and most valuable player for the Eagles. In his senior year, he was the NCCAA District Player of the Year along with being named to the NCCAA and NAIA All-District teams and received his second NIIC Player of the Year award.
Judson will begin the men's and women's tennis programs in the 2009-10 athletic year. Both programs were stopped after the 2000 season. The women's program had won two NIIC Championships in the 1992 and 1993 seasons.
