ELGIN, IL - Continuing to grow the athletic department, Judson University has announced that it will bring back men's and women's tennis for the 2009-10 season. These are two of the five sports that will be brought back to Judson after several years being non-exsistent.

"Bringing back tennis, golf, and cheerleading to the Judson athletic department is very exciting and I look forward to empowering coaches to build programs that can be successful," states Judson Director of Athletics Nancy Binger.

These sports will have scholarships to work with for recruiting athletes to come to Judson. This past season, Judson added men's and women's cross country and brought in 17 new athletes.

Binger quotes, "It is key that we are going to provide the resources and scholarships to these teams so that the programs can flourish and represent Judson well. This is a great way to give students a community to be a part of and enhance their time at Judson.

With the addition of these five sports, Judson will now have 14 overall athletic teams. Prior to the 2008-09 season, Judson only had seven sports in volleyball, men's and women's soccer, men's and women's basketball, baseball, and softball.

Judson is also coming off one of their finest athletic seasons, ever, from the 2007-08 athletic season. Judson won six over CCAC Championships for regular season and tournaments. They also had two CCAC Players of the Year and two CCAC Freshman of the Year. This season, already, Judson won the men's soccer CCAC Tournament Championships for a fifth straight season.
