JU 1, SXU 0 - Box

Elgin, Ill. – Junior Milos Bajic jetted in the game winning goal for Judson University (5-3-1/1-0) in the 104th minute as the men’s soccer team slipped past St. Xavier (1-5/0-1), 1-0.

Senior Mark Howlett found Bajic in the box as Bajic on the left side and glided the pass over to Bajic.  Bajic then moved left around the defender and shot the winning goal into the left side of the net.  With the win, JU starts the year off 1-0 in the CCAC.

It was a rough match as 49 fouls were called.  St. Xavier had 32 of the 49 fouls called.  Both teams battled through with Judson out shooting SXU, 15-12.

Freshman Neil Thompson won his fourth match in goal with six saves.  It is also his second shutout of the year.

The schedule does not get any easier as Judson travels to Deerfield to take on CCAC opponent Trinity International on Saturday, September 22nd, at 2:00 p.m.
