ELGIN, IL - For the second year in a row, junior Gustavo Oliveira (Brazil) has been named a NAIA All-American. Oliveira picks up his second NAIA All-American honorable mention award in his second year at Judson and was one of four CCAC players named NAIA All-American.
Oliveira led Judson in with nine goals, 21 assists, and 39 points while providing a career-high six assists against Cincinnati Christian. He was repeat selection, too, on the All-CCAC first-team along with being named the CCAC Player of the Week and the NCCAA National Player of the Week once. In the matches against Huntington (IN) and Spring Arbor, he had the lone goal in 1-0 shutout wins. His 21 assists put him tied for seventh in a single season at Judson with Rob Eastland (2000), and Marcus Lauria (2001).
In his career, he now has 34 assists and 19 goals. He just needs six assists to break into the Judson top 10 for all-time assists.
Three players from Illinois Tech were named NAIA All-American in Diego Dias (3rd Team), Andrew Lichay (honorable mention), and Rob Ritchie-Smith (honorable mention).
Judson finished the season at 15-6 winning their fifth straight CCAC Tournament Championship and advancing to their fifth straight NAIA National Tournament.
