ELGIN, IL - Competing at the NAIA National Cross Country Meet in her first season at Judson University, freshman Rachael Dean (Lindenhurst, IL) will represent Judson at nationals. She qualified for the national meet by finishing ninth at the CCAC (Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference) meet.
Dean has had a top 10 finish in seven of her eight meets this season. She won the Indiana Wesleyan meet with a time of 18:39 in the 5K run, which is her best time of the season. In her very first collegiate meet, she won the Aurora University Invitational with a time of 23:05 in the 6K race.
Last weekend, she ran at the NCCAA (National Christian Collegiate Athletic Association) National Meet as an individual. She finished 30th of 147 runners in the 5K with a time of 19:43. At the CCAC meet, she ran a 19:59 to claim ninth place and be named All-CCAC.
The NAIA meet will feature 32 teams and 111 individual runners to be run at the Dr. Wayne E. Dannehl Cross Country Course in Kenosha, Wisconsin, at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 22nd.
