Elgin, IL - In a complete week, Judson University (3-2) made a 360 degree turn as they came away with a 101-75 win over Mt. Mercy (2-3) in the consolation game of the Judson Tournament. Last week, in the season opening game in Iowa, Judson fell to Mt. Mercy, 79-77. Freshman Landon Skinner (Plano, TX), who was the CCAC Player of the Week, scored a career-high 32 points with 23 in the first half.

Skinner led all scorers but was followed by Josh Edwards (Mapleton, IL) and Dovydas Retkus (Lithuania) 16 points each. Ryan Shelton had a career-high 12 points. LeStan Hoskins (Danville, IL) led the rebounding with eight. Mt. Mercy's Marty Tope had 16 points.

Mt. Mercy came out strong early in the game and took a six-point lead, 10-4 in the first five minutes of the game. Judson responded with an 11-4 run to take a one-point lead, 15-14, with 12:34 on the clock. A three-pointer by Mt. Mercy's Marty Tope made it 17-15 as that would be the last time the Mustangs would see the lead. Judson went on a 17-2 run in the next five minutes for a commanding lead, 32-19. Skinner had seven points in the run. The lead never got under single digits again. Judson took a 17-point lead, 51-34, with just 43 seconds left in the half on a layup by Dovydas Retkus.

Judson cruised into the second half and took a 20-point lead at the 18:33 mark on a free throw by Skinner. Judson took their largest lead of 28 points, 80-52, on two free throws by Sam Lemmerman (Hurricane, WV) with 11:25 left in the game. From the 16 minute mark on, Judson's lead never fell under 20 points.

Judson finished shooting 52% from the floor, 30% from three-point land, and 75% from the line. Mt. Mercy shot 42% from the floor, 26% from beyond the arc, and 67% from the stripe. Judson out rebounded Mt. Mercy, 43-31, and had less turnovers (13) to Mt. Mercy's 17. Judson also had nine steals and one block.

Judson will travel to Minnesota next Friday, November 21st, to take on NCAA Division III Wisconsin-River Falls at the Northwestern (MN) College Tournament at 4:00 p.m.
