
Elgin, IL - Earning the first post-season awards for the Judson University women's soccer team are junior's Christina Thornton (Algonquin, IL) and Emma Mugg (Shawnee, KS). Both players were named to the NCCAA (National Christian Collegiate Athletic Association) All-North Central Region team.
Thornton is finished the season third in the CCAC in goals (20) and fourth in points (43) and led Judson with 19 goals. She became Judson's all-time goals with 59 career goals and is tied for all-time points leader at 137. She had five multiple goal matches and recorded a career-high four goals against St. Francis (IL). This is the third year in row she has been named to the NCCAA All-Region team and was a NCCAA All-American last season.
Mugg has been solid on defense for Judson as the Eagles have posted five shutouts on the year. She has scored two goals and recorded one assists. She netted two goals in an 11-0 win over Cardinal Stritch. This is the second time she has been NCCAA All-Region as she earned the award in her freshman season.
Judson finished the season at 7-11-1 and picked up their first-ever win over a NCAA Division I program in Houston Baptist.
