
Elgin, IL - Post season awards are starting to come in for the 2008 Judson University men's soccer team as four players have been named NCCAA (National Christian Collegiate Athletic Association) All-North Central Region. Senior's Aduato Oliveira (Brazil) and Leonardo Silva (Brazil), junior Gustavo Oliveira (Brazil), and sophomore Alex Tyton (Elgin, IL) have all received the award.
Aduato Oliveira has scored seven goals and seven assists for 21 points and is second on the team in goals scored. He won the CCAC Player of the Week award on October 13th by scoring four goals and three assists in two matches. He had three goals vs. Cincinnati Christian.
Silva currently has six goals and one assist for 13 points. He has scored five goals in the final four matches with two against Cardinal Stritch in two different wins. He has been named the CCAC Player of the Week in back-to-back weeks for his play against Cardinal Stritch. Just this past week, he was named the NCCAA National Player of the Week, also.
Gustavo Oliveira leads Judson with nine goals and 18 assists from 36 points. He has been named the CCAC Player of the Week, once, and is the only player that was NCCAA All-Region last year. His 18 assists puts him the Judson single season top 10 tied in the 10th spot.
Tyton has had a career year in goal with six shut outs and an 11-3 record. He has been named the CCAC Player of the Week four times and the NCCAA National Player of the Week, once. He collected a career high 12 saves against Illinois Tech in the CCAC Tournament Championship game. He has a 0.71 GAA only allowing 10 goals in 14 matches played.
Judson is currently waiting to see who they will play in the NAIA National Tournament. Judson will find out the location, date, and opponent on Sunday night as they will participate in their fifth straight NAIA National Tournament.
