
Elgin, IL.- Stepping up in a big way to help Judson University in the post season is senior Leonardo Silva (Brazil) as he was named the CCAC "Offensive Player of the Week." It is the fifth time this season that Judson has had the CCAC "Offensive Player of the Week" and the fourth in the last five weeks.
In the final match of the 2008 regular season, Silva stepped up to help Judson offensively by scoring both goals in a 2-0 win over Cardinal Stritch. The win gave Judson the #3 seed in the CCAC Tournament. Silva notched goals in the 44th and 70th minutes of the match for the win.
For the CCAC Tournament match against Trinity International, Silva assisted on the go-ahead go in the 41st minute to give Judson the 2-1 win. His play helped Judson to the semi-final match to face #2 seeded Cardinal Stritch.
This week, Silva scored both goals, again, as Judson knocked off #2 Cardinal Stritch, 2-1, in overtime. Judson will now play for their 5th straight CCAC Tournament Championship on Saturday, November 7th, in Chicago, Illinois, against Illinois Tech at 7:00 p.m.
