Trinity International's Travis Bacon gave the Trojans an early lead in the ninth minute when he found a shot in the box amongst the many defenders to make it 1-0. Trinity International then played 30 minutes of stellar defense until Judson finally broke through. In the 39th minute, Judson's Gustavo Oliveira (Brazil) found himself open on the far side of the box and Tom Kruse (Germany) shifted a pass over. Oliveira then found himself in a great one-on-one with the goalie for the score to tie the game at one. Just over two minutes later, Judson's Milos Bajic (Serbia) was in the right place in the box right after Trinity International's goalie Lucas Zicher stopped Leonardo Silva's shot. Bajic finished off Zicher's save as he put the shot into the back of the net for the one-goal advantage (40:54).
Judson then also added more pressure in the final four minutes after the goal to end the half. Aduato Oliveira (Brazil) and Bajic both took shots that were saved by Trinity International's Zicher.
It was a totally different second half for both teams as the offensive aggression switched sides. Trinity International pressed Judson and kept the ball on Judson's half for most of the second half. The Trojans took six shots and then did not let Judson take a single shot. Of those six shots, five were on goal and all stopped by Judson's Alex Tyton (Elgin, IL)
Trinity International's first shot came in the 65th minute but was wide. They then took two back-to-back shots in the 67th and 68th minutes but both were stopped by Judson's Tyton. In the 73rd and 77th minute, the Trojans tried again to slip one by Tyton but could not as Tyton collected his fourth and fifth saves of the match. In the 83rd minute, Trinity International's James Flemister headed a shot towards the goal but was denied by Tyton. Trinity International had one final chance for a goal on a corner kick in the 87th minute but could not convert.
Tyton finished with six saves and one team save on the match while Trinity International's Zicher had eight saves. Each team took 12 shots each as Judson had 12 shots in the first half and Trinity International split them with six each in a half. Judson finished with 20 fouls to the Trojans 11.
Judson has now won three in a row and nine of their last 11 matches. They will be facing a tough challenge in Wisconsin as they take on #2 Cardinal Stritch on Wednesday, November 5th, in the CCAC Tournament semi-finals. The winner of that match will be playing for the CCAC Tournament championship.
