
Lamoni, Iowa- Running just as strong as ever, Judson University ran well at the Yellowjacket classic at Graceland College in Lamoni, Iowa. The Women finished 11th of 17 teams competing and the men took 13th of 17 teams competing. Judson's Rachael Dean (Lindenhurst, IL) was seventh in the 5K run and Nick Sustersic (Palos Hills, IL) took 34th.
Although the course was a soft and slower course coach Rich Weinhandl, "thought the men and women did well considering the conditions, they had a great competitive spirit throughout the race." The teams beat Trinity Christian who was placed at the top of the conference. This win helped to set them into place for the CCAC Championship.
On the Women's side, four Judson runners finished in the top 100 with Dean finishing seventh at 19:34. Abbie Dupont (Springfield, IL) took 44th with a time of 24:43, finishing just 30 seconds behind her was Sandra Hubbard (Hickory Hills, IL) with a 57th place finish in a time of 22:14. Rounding out the top four was Lisa Reitz (Oak Lawn, IL) in 86th with a time of 23:15. Kim Peek (Springdale, AR) came in at 108th with a time of 23:58 and Dianna Clark (Fairbury, IL) came in at 26:45 in 136th place.
The men finished in 13th with a respectable 292 points, with the top four runners coming in, in a two minute time slot. Leading the pack Sustersic in 34th came in with a time of 28:24, following closely behind him in 65th Robert Altenburger (West Salem, OH) posted a time of 29:31. Dakota West (Antioch, IL) was next to cross the line in 86th place with a time of 30:05. To round off the top four finishers was Nate Faulkner (Davis, IL) in 90th with a time of 30:10. Thomas Jarrett (St. Louis, MO) was 100th at 30:29 and he was followed by Ethan Hahn (Lake Villa, IL) 146th (32:49).
Judson will compete in the CCAC Championships on November 8th, at Bourbonnais, Illinois.
