
Jacksonville, IL.- Continuing to improve in every meet, Judson University finished well at the Illinois College Cross Country meet. The women's team finished second of six teams and the men fourth of six teams with 10 colleges participating. Judson's Rachael Dean (Lindenhurst, IL) was second in the 5K run and Dakota West (Antioch, IL) was 13th for the men.
With their best finish of the year, the Judson University women's team finished ahead of NCAA Division III programs Principia College, Maryville University, and Illinois College and NAIA Culver-Stockton with 65 points. Greenville University won the meet with 19 points.
Four of Judson's runners finished in the top 20 with Dean claiming second at 19:26. Abbie Dupont (Springfield, IL) had her best run and finish of the year in seventh place (20:48). Sandra Hubbard (Hickory Hills, IL) was ninth with a time of 21:07 and Lisa Reitz finished 19th with a time of 22:11. Sharon Hubbard (Hickory Hills, IL) was 40th with a time of 24:23 and Dianna Clark (Fairbury, IL) was 49th (25:49).
The men's team finish for points was not reported but Judson did finish fourth overall with three runners in the top 20. West lead the way as he ran a personal best 27:58 in the 8K run for 13th place. Nick Sustersic (Palos Hills, IL) finished in 17th place with a time of 28:06 and Robert Altenburger (West Salem, OH) was 19th with a personal best 28:18. Thomas Jarrett (St. Louis, MO) was 30th at 29:07 and he was followed by Nate Faulkner (Davis, IL) in 37th (29:38) and Ethan Hahn (Lake Villa, IL) 41st (30:07).
Judson will have their final regular season meet on Saturday, October 25th, in Iowa at Graceland University starting at 11:00 a.m.
