Judson scored the first two goals of the match in the 16th and 24th minute. Christina Thornton (Algonquin, Ill.) scored her fifth goal of the season to make it 1-0. Just eight minutes later, Baerbel Hartner (Ettrigen, Germany) made it 2-0 with an assist from Thornton.
The 2-0 lead did not last long as St. Francis came right back at JU just 18 seconds later to cut the lead to one, 2-1, in the 24th minute.
St. Francis kept fighting in the 2nd half as they scored in the 53rd minute to tie the game at two. Right after they scored, there was a 20-minute lightening delay as both teams went to the locker room.
After the lightening delay, both teams battled to the end but could not score. In overtime, Judson had two shots hit the crossbar but could not get the game winning goal.
Judson has six shots on goal to USF’s four and out shot the Cougars 16-7. Rebecca O’Donnell (Wheeling, Ill.) had two saves.
