Mt. Vernon, OH. - Judson played one of their best matches of the season with a 3-0 win over St. Catharine College (KY), 25-3, 25-9, 25-23.  Judson had an attacking percentage of .609 in game one.  Judson then fell to Mt. Vernon Nazarene, 3-0, in match two on the day.
 Judson 3, St. Catharine 0 
Danielle Dull led Judson with 16 kills followed by Debra Leganski with 12.  Tracey Enzenbacher had 17 digs and Carly Campioni recorded 37 assists.
 
After falling down 1-0 in game one, Kasey Smith served 18 straight points as Judson only allowed three St. Catharine points.  Game two had the same outcome as Judson won, 25-9.  Judson took a 6-2 lead with four service points from Rachel Whitacre.  Leganski then made it 16-3 with five straight serves.  St. Catharine scored the next three points to come within 10, 16-6, but that is as close as it would come.  Enzenbacher ended game two with a kill for the 25-9 win.
 
The closest game was in set three where there were six ties.  With the game tied at seven, St. Catharine scored seven of the next eight points to take a 14-8 lead.  Judson battled back and tied the game at 17 and took the lead for good on a Dull kill.  Judson then held off St. Catharine for the 25-23 win.
 
Mt. Vernon Nazarene 3, Judson 0
Taking the match in three sets, Mt. Vernon Nazarene won 25-13, 25-16, 25-17 for their 23rd win of the season.  Judson was led by Dulls 15 kills.  Campioni had 24 assists and Enzenbacher had 15 digs.
 
Judson tied Mt. Vernon Nazarene four times in the first five points before the Cougars scored five of the next six points for a 10-6 lead.  A kill by Enzenbacher cut the lead to three, 10-7, but that is as close as Judson would get in set one.
 
Set two was a lot like set one as Mt. Vernon won, 25-16.  Judson had the set tied at six when Mt. Vernon scored the next four points to make it 10-6.  After a Judson error, the Cougars won the next five points for a 15-8 lead.  Judson did not get any closer.
 
Once again, Judson stayed close early in set three only to see the Cougars pull away, 25-17.  Judson had the game tied at six, again, when Mt. Vernon scored six of the next seven points for a 12-7 advantage.  A kill by Dull made it 12-8 but Judson could not get any closer than four points.  Judson was within four, 19-15, but Mt. Vernon scored on a kill to stop the rally. 
 
Judson will next play on Tuesday, October 14th, against Calumet College at 7:00 p.m. in the Lindner Fitness Center as Judson will produce a 'Blue Out.'
