Lisle, IL- The Judson University cross country teams had a good showing at the Benedictine University Eagle Invitational as the women finished sixth of 13 teams while the men were eighth of 12 teams. Rachael Dean (Lindenhurst, IL) finished 9th overall for the women in the 6K race while Nick Sustersic (Palos Hills, IL) was the top runner for the men in 35th place for the 8k.
 
"Two outstanding performances were run by Abbie Dupont and Sandra Hubbard" says coach Rich Weinhandl. "They were are two and three runners, who also got awards and who were the heart of today's run, helping Dean in her 9th place finish and securing Judson with a very respectable 6th place team finish."
 
On the women's side, Judson finished with 153 points finishing in sixth place. Dean took the 9th spot of 105 runners with a time of 25:18.28 to lead Judson. This is the fourth meet this season she has had a top 10 finish as she won the IWU Invitational last weekend. Finishing as the second runner for Judson was Abbie Dupont (Springfield, IL) in 19th with a time of 26:12.93. Also finishing in the top 50 were Sandra Hubbard (Hickory Hills, IL) in 20th at 26:13.32 and Lisa Reitz (Oak Lawn, IL) in 39th at 27:40.93. Sharon Hubbard (Hickory Hills, IL) had a time of 30:13.30 and Dianna Clark (Fairbury, IL) at 34:34.12.
 
The men collected 210 points and was the 8th team out of 12. Nick Sustersic (Palos Hills, IL) was Judson's top runner in 35th place crossing the 8K at 28:51.84. Just 15 seconds behind him was Dakota West (Antioch, IL) in 46th place with a time of 29:05.97. Thomas Jarratt (St. Louis, MO) finished with a time of 30:29.60 while Nate Faulkner (Davis, IL)had a time of 30:37.11 and Ethan Hahn at 30:54.15.
 
Judson will compete next Saturday, October 18th at Illinois College.
