Mt. Vernon, OH. - In the first day of action of the Mt. Vernon Nazarene University Tournament, Judson University fell to both Lindsey Wilson College and Marian College in three games each. 
 
Lindsey Wilson 3, Judson 0
In the first match of two matches at Mt. Vernon Nazarene University, Judson University fell to Lindsey Wilson, 3-0, 14-25, 14-25, 20-25.  Danielle Dull led Judson with 17 kills.
 
All three games were competitive with 18 ties and nine lead changes.  Judson was also led by Debra Leganski's seven kills and 18 digs.  Tracey Enzenbacher also had 17 digs.
 
Tying the game at three, five, and six, Judson was competitive with Lindsey Wilson.  After the 6-6 tie, Lindsey Wilson went on a 10-1 run to take a 16-7 lead and went on for the 25-14 win.  Game two saw similar results with six different ties in the first 10 points of the match with the last tie at 7-7.  Lindsey Wilson responded with a 7-2 run to go up, 14-9.  Judson cut the lead to three, 14-11, on a Dull kill and a Rachel Whitacre service ace but that is as close as it came with Lindsey Wilson winning game two, 25-14.
 
Judson played tight in game three through the first four points as it was tied, 4-4.  Lindsey Wilson scored the next five points only to see Judson tie the game at 10 on a Leganski kill.  Judson scored the next two points for a 12-10 advantage but Lindsey Wilson score seven of the next eight points for a 17-13 lead.  Judson never recovered from that as Lindsey Wilson won the match.
 
Marion College 3, Judson 0
Judson once again battled early but fell in three games 18-25, 16-25, 19-25.  There were 15 ties and six lead changes in the match.
 
Dull had eight kills and three blocks while Leganski added seven kills and 22 digs.  Carly Campioni recorded 21 assists and Enzenbacher had 12 digs. 
 
With six ties in the first 10 points, it was close at the beginning.  The game was tied at seven when Marian had a 4-1 run to make it 11-8.  Judson came back to tie the game at 11, 12, 13, 14 and then took a two-point lead, 16-14.  Judson made it a three-point lead, 18-15, and had momentum going their way but Marian scored the next 10 points to take the 25-18 win.
 
Marian took a quick 6-2 lead in game two and never looked back.  Judson was only within three, once, 7-4, and Marian went on for the 25-16 win.  Once again Marian took a 9-4 lead in game three but Judson came roaring back to tie the game at 11.  Leganski had a kill to tie the game at 11 and forced a Marian timeout.
 
After the timeout, Marian won the next two points only to see Judson tie it at 13.  Marian won five of the next six points to make it 18-14.  With the momentum shift, Marian went on for the match win, 25-19.
 
Judson will face St. Catherine and Mt. Vernon Nazarene University at 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 11th.
