Palos Heights, IL - Facing their toughest opponent of the 2008 season, Judson University (3-6-1/1-2) could not knock off the #13 Trinity Christian College Trolls (11-0/3-0) on the road. Trinity Christian shut out the Eagles, 2-0, in CCAC play in women's soccer and held Judson to only two shots on the night.
It only took the Trolls 11 minutes to get on the board as Claire Comerouski netted the first goal that was unassisted. The first half belonged to Trinity Christian as they took 12 shots and did not let a single Judson shot.
Judson did get two shots off in the second half but both were saved by Trinity Christian goalie Hannah Gonzales. Ashley Williams (Lake in the Hills, IL) and Betsey Barthel (Des Plaines, IL) each had a shot. Trinity Christian made it 2-0 in the 83rd minute when Megan Scartozzi found the net.
Judson's Mackenzie Fowler (Crosby, TX) had 13 saves in the loss. The fouls were even between the two teams as each had 11 while Trinity Christian took eight corner kicks.
Judson will now face Trinity International on Saturday, October 4th, at 11:00 a.m. in Deerfield, IL, in CCAC play.
