Judson 1, Spring Arbor 0 - Box

Spring Arbor, MI. - Shutting out their third team of the year in a 1-0 win, Judson University (4-2) gave Spring Arbor University (4-1-1) their first loss of the season. Judson head coach Steve Burke now needs just three more wins to become the NAIA's all-time career wins leader for men's soccer.

Junior Gustavo Oliveira (Brazil) netted the only goal of the game in the 11th minute when he took a pass from freshman Jason Parmenter (Lincoln, IL) and senior Adauto Oliveira (Brazil). Judson then played defense only allowing 11 shots for Spring Arbor.

Gaining the win was sophomore Alex Tyton (Elgin, IL) in goal with four saves as he is now 2-1 with his second shutout of the season. Spring Arbor was averaging three goals a game coming into the match and was shutout.

"Our team played a very good game against a really good team," says head coach Steve Burke. "Both teams battled but our veterans stepped up today. Petar Bajic played well on both sides of the ball as well did Milos Bajic. Our captain Vitor Bravo also played exceptionally well."

Judson will now have five days off before they travel to St. Xavier on Tuesday, September 23rd, for their CCAC opener at 7:00 p.m.
