Tied at one, CC’s Ross Matthew received an aired out pass into the box as he lofted the ball in for the winning goal. JU tied the game at one in the 52nd minute when they were led by senior Mark Howlett. Howlett received the pass from Gustavo Oliveira from the left side of the field on a break away for the score.
JU came out pushing more offensively in the second half as they out shot CC, 7-3. They also had five shots on goal in the second half.
Columbia took a 1-0 lead in the first half when Jordan Cox tapped in the goal off a rebound save by JU’s goalie. JU only had three shots in the first half with none of them on goal.
CC out shot Judson, 12-10, and had eight corner kicks to JU’s five. JU had more fouls with 21 to CC’s 16. JU’s Neil Thompson recorded three saves.
Judson will open up CCAC play on Wednesday, September 19th, when they host St. Xavier at 4:00 p.m.
